Kids in Communities

Storytime@Starbucks™

We help to promote early childhood literacy by taking what we do in hospitals into local communities. We are proud to have partnered with Starbucks Coffee to provide Storytime @Starbucks™ read out loud sessions in Starbucks locations. Parents are encouraged to bring their children from infant to middle school and participate in our live storytime reading sessions. Readers include Starbucks baristas and members of the local community. We inspire the joy of reading for today’s youth by using iPads for our sessions. The interactive stories which allow for more sensory engagement speaks to how our children are growing up with technology as an integral part of their daily lives. We show that technology is not just for gaming or school papers. Books are exciting and ultra cool (they’re on iPads so what’s cooler than that?) And studies show that children who have been read to consistently and incorporate reading in their lives perform much better in school and have higher test scores than those who do not. Please check the homepage for dates, times and locations.

Inspiring You To Volunteer

We provide opportunities for you to volunteer to help a child locally. Part of our mission is to inspire everyday citizens to volunteer to make a difference in their own communities. I Inspire creates programs that improve the lives of children and of the sick. We include opportunities for volunteerism that allows for the community to connect to those in need. Volunteers can read to sick children in hospitals, offer their professional services to help the organization, help fundraise, blog, tweet, or even participate in some of our well children reading events that we do to promote our core mission.
